A team of visionary changemakers dedicated to transforming our region into a model of regeneration. These individuals are actively designing and implementing holistic solutions that prioritize community, ecology, and sustainable local economies.
KEY CHARACTERS

INDIGENOUS WISDOM
Rooted in centuries of knowledge, Indigenous wisdom teaches us to work with nature rather than against it. This series highlights Indigenous practices that inform regenerative land stewardship, water conservation, and community-building.
UNDERREPRESENTED VOICES
Regeneration must be inclusive. This docuseries will highlight the voices of historically underrepresented communities who are leading change, ensuring that solutions are equitable and empower those most affected by systemic challenges.

LOCAL REGENERATORS
The innovators, farmers, entrepreneurs, and organizers already doing the work. These individuals and groups are actively restoring soil, rebuilding local economies, preserving culture, and fostering resilient, regenerative communities.

THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT
Regeneration isn’t just happening here—it’s a worldwide movement. Across the globe, communities are reclaiming their ecosystems, economies,
and cultures by putting life at the center of every decision.
Blueprint Appalachia is part of a global shift toward regenerative design, sustainable economies, and community-driven solutions.
Through the BioFi Cultivator, 20+ organizations worldwide are pioneering bioregional models, proving that regeneration is scalable.
This docuseries serves as a catalyst for change, providing a replicable framework for other communities.
The time for regeneration is now.
This is more than a documentary—it’s a blueprint for the world.

EP. 1 "STORY OF PLACE"
“A New Way Forward Begins with Understanding Where We Stand.”
As the world faces escalating ecological and systemic crises, Blueprint Appalachia begins with a critical question:
How do we rebuild in a way that restores, rather than depletes?
Asheville, a city deeply tied to its land, people, and history, offers a powerful case study in resilience and innovation. This episode explores Asheville’s unique history—its rich soil, flowing rivers, thriving arts, and deep cultural roots—through six essential sectors of a regenerative ecosystem: soil, water, farming, local business, culture, arts, and housing.
By understanding the interconnectedness of these systems, we reveal what’s possible when communities shift from extraction to regeneration.
We introduce the concept of a Regenerator:
someone who puts life at the center of all decisions.
Unlike extractive models that prioritize short-term gains, a Regenerator seeks solutions that nourish people, economies, and the land simultaneously. By blending Indigenous wisdom with modern innovation, these visionaries are already reshaping Asheville’s future.
Through the lens of local regenerators—farmers restoring soil health, artists using storytelling to inspire change, entrepreneurs rethinking business as a force for good—we show that regeneration is not just an idea, but a movement already in motion.
We present Blueprint for Impact as a model: a network of aligned efforts working to fund and scale high-impact initiatives. This episode lays the groundwork for the docuseries, offering Asheville as a blueprint for other communities to follow.

EP. 2 “SILOS TO SYNERGY”
“Rethinking Boundaries: Nature Connects Us, Now Our Solutions Must Too.”
In a world where communities often operate in isolated silos, nature tells a different story—one of interconnection.
This episode explores how bioregional mapping can shift the way we approach sustainability, using natural boundaries like watersheds, soil compositions, and biodiversity corridors to guide more effective, collaborative solutions.
At the heart of this approach is the French Broad River watershed, a lifeline that flows through multiple counties, connecting people, businesses, and ecosystems. By recognizing how water, soil, and human activity are linked, communities can work together across sectors rather than against each other.
We introduce the concept of BIOREGIONAL MAPPING, explaining its role in aligning regenerative efforts—from farmers restoring soil health to conservationists protecting waterways. By mapping who is doing what and where, we uncover opportunities for deeper collaboration and higher impact.
Through the stories of local regenerators—individuals and organizations working within this mapped system—we highlight both the successes and the challenges of creating a truly regenerative future.
This episode shifts the perspective from short-term, disconnected fixes to long-term, unified solutions, showing that bioregional mapping is a tool any community can adopt to move from fragmentation to synergy.
EP. 3 “FINANCING THE FUTURE”
“Funding the Future: Investing in Regeneration, Not Extraction.”
Traditional financing systems have long prioritized short-term profit over long-term ecological and social well-being, leaving regenerative initiatives struggling to secure the funding they need. This episode introduces BIOREGIONAL FINANCING FACILITIES, a groundbreaking approach to aligning capital with nature and community resilience.
To understand where this model comes from, we explore the visionary ideas of Buckminster Fuller, who believed in systems-based solutions that work in harmony with the natural world. We also examine Black Mountain College, an experimental hub for forward-thinking design and sustainability that shaped many of today’s regenerative principles.
We introduce Samantha Power and her role in shaping bioregional financing facilities, showcasing how BioFi Cultivator and Blueprint for Impact are leading the charge as part of a global movement of 20 organizations rethinking how money can serve people and the planet.
Through interviews with investors, philanthropists, and regenerative pioneers, we highlight real-world funding success stories that prove this model isn’t just theoretical—it’s already working and growing. By the end of this episode, viewers will see that bioregional financing is more than an economic strategy—it’s a blueprint for economic transformation.
The final message is clear: Shifting capital from extraction to regeneration can reshape entire communities, creating an economy where thriving ecosystems and thriving people go hand in hand.

A NEW WAY TO FUND REGENERATION
Bioregional Financing Facilities (BFFs) are local funding hubs designed to invest in projects that restore ecosystems, strengthen communities, and build resilient local economies. Instead of extracting wealth, BFFs circulate resources within a bioregion, aligning financial decisions with the land, water, and people they support.
Traditional funding models prioritize short-term profit over long-term well-being.
High-impact local projects struggle to secure funding.
Communities need financial control to invest in solutions that regenerate their land and economy.
Decentralized Funding – Shifting financial power to local decision-makers.
Connected Projects – Aligning initiatives across soil, water, housing, and business.
Regenerative Growth – Supporting economies that restore, not extract.
Community-led grant funds for regenerative projects.
Venture studios launching climate-resilient businesses.
Low-interest loans for sustainable development.
THE FUTURE OF FINANCE IS REGENERATIVE
BFFs redefine value by investing in the health of our communities and ecosystems. Let’s build an economy that gives back more than it takes.
EP. 4 “THE FRAMEWORK FOR REGENERATION”
“A Strategic Roadmap for Thriving Communities”

Blueprint for Impact developed this draft through collaborative innovation, bringing together local leaders, Indigenous wisdom, and modern sustainability strategies to create a clear path forward.
This strategic blueprint is scalable and adaptable, allowing communities anywhere to tailor it to their unique needs while following a proven model for regeneration.
From revitalizing neighborhoods to restoring natural landscapes, the Regeneration Strategy Draft offers a roadmap for transitioning from extraction to regeneration—one community at a time.
EP. 5 “COLLABORATION PORTFOLIOS”
"COLLABORATION FUELS INNOVATION"
